Welcome to the CIAE Ning Site!

Welcome Computer and Internet Applications in Education (CIAE) SIG Members!

NEWS: PROPOSAL DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JULY 22nd, 2009!

First of all, we would like to extend a HUGE thank you for being a member of this SIG. Without your membership and excellent research, the SIG would not be going strong today. We encourage you to renew both your AERA and SIG memberships for this upcoming year.

We would love to see the CIAE SIG's membership grow! Please encourage your colleagues and graduate students to join our group!

You can review your membership status by logging in at www.aera.net . If your membership has lapsed, or if you have additional members to recruit, please note that all members as of June 30, 2009, will count for AERA's determination of SIG size and the number of sessions we are alloted in the annual meeting program. GO CIAE!

The CIAE SIG'S PURPOSE: To promote research and evaluation on the use of computer-based information and communications resources and software for learning, instruction, assessment, and accomplishment by students, teachers, and administrators.

AERA's 2010 CONFERENCE: This year the conference will be held in Denver, CO from April 30-May 4, 2010.

CIAE SIG'S WEBSITE: Join us at http://ciaesig.ning.com/ ! Get involved with the group online! Share comments, questions, photos, and video while receiving the latest information about the SIG. Update your profile, share photos, videos, research!

SUBMIT A PROPOSAL: We encourage you to submit your paper, poster, and roundtable session proposals to our SIG! This year's program theme is "Understanding Complex Ecologies in a Changing World." Thus, we are looking for research that addresses this theme as well as the general areas of computer and Internet applications in education. Please note that there will be fewer paper sessions this year, but more poster and roundtable sessions.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE AN OFFICER IN THE CIAE SIG? Elections for Chair, Program Chair, and Sec/Treasurer will be held next spring. The slate of candidates will be built this fall. Email one of the current officers, below, if you'd like to self- nominate, or nominate someone else.

QUESTIONS: Please contact Cassie Scharber (scharber@umn.edu), Sara Dexter (sdexter@virginia.edu), or Aaron Doering, (adoering@umn.edu).
